Selecting the right color paint for your walls
Do you own Fairfax VA Real Estate? Does your home need a facelift? Painting is one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to add new life to the rooms in your home.
It sounds easy – go to the paint store, pick out a sample or color you like, take it home and paint.
Unfortunately, looking at a small sample in the store does not necessarily translate well once you get it on your wall.
When you go to the store to buy paint, buy a number of small samples in cans that you can either paint on different sections of the wall or on pieces of wood that you can move around and see how the color fits the room.
Color is always more intense on the wall than it is on a tiny chip, so when you are choosing your samples, think about maybe doing a shade lighter so the color doesn’t overwhelm the room.
The lighting in your room can also make a difference in how the color displays and is very likely to be different from the store.
Make sure you look at your samples in the room at varying time of the day to make sure you still like the color, unless you are one of the many Fairfax, VA homes for sale, then a neutral color is best to be used, so it attracts as many buyers as possible
